Yes, the same fella that went bald with me in July to Honor All The Cancer Patients That Have No Choice, and yes, he even let us "hot wax" all the hair from his AV. I wonder if he caught the meaning giving him a "HOWL - o - ween" event , because I'd love to see him let us get his Wolf AV hairless for Relay 2012! Gai pulled out all the stops with the tunes and played some Fantastic music! With a little bit of, "Damn It Janet," "Sweet Transvestite" and "The Time Warp" he had us dancing to one of the best Halloween Cult Classics ....... The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Bringing in several of his friends to introduce to Rays of Hope and that Real Men & Women Wear Pink, he gave a final push to get the kiosks higher and higher and reminded everyone to please get checked for Breast Cancer, Both Women AND Men! Sunday marks the final day for live singers and musicians as Halloween has a special setup in store for everyone. Sunday was a wild day with lots of last minute changes as RL never rests and neither does SL lagggggg. Through it all Sunday finished with the donations and spirits high and smiles on the faces of everyone that was present.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Jana Kyomoon started us off at 11am with a special show. In case you've not heard her, Jana performs live music shows mixing electronica ambient rhythmic reflective music with touches of jazz, solo piano and trip hop. She is an Amazing performer and played music from her CD Ambient. Giving us a wonderful and relaxing way to start off the day, smooth sound of the keyboard and music that tintilated the soul. Her voice soft and meaningful in the breaks of the music talking to the lucky people present why we were Thinking Pink and to be sure to get checked. Thank You Jana !!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div>Up next on stage at 12pm was, well it was me, Suzetta Moonites, singing for everyone. Couldn't resist how Broody had redecorated the back of our club area to reflect some Halloween fun, I got on my Pink Witch Outfit (from Falln Angel, Hecate Dress). Singing to keep everyone dancing we took a trip back in time with songs like, "I Want Candy," "Lollipop" and mixed in the Halloween Style Tunes, "Bad Moon Rising" and "Monster Mash." With my mom in world for the day and dad watching over her shoulder I played a song that touches on memories, "Fight Like A Girl." Couldn't resist singing a personal favorite song about Dooley, "Pink Shoe Laces." Finishing with one that speaks to everyone, that if you've not done everything you can and or you want to do more there's, "Always Tomorrow!"</div><div><br />

Mila Avedon took the stage next at 1pm and kept the music flowing and everyone dancing! She sang some great Oldies tunes, "Baby Love," "Sugar Shack" to name just a few. Mixing in some country with tunes from Loretta Lyne and also infusing some Pre-Halloween with "My Night To Howl." Mila also rose up to a challenge from the audience to wear some Huge Feet for Breast Cancer and a Wonderful Donation! Her last song of her show was a very special one, a Duet with her Brother Lonewolf, who is battling cancer himself, a really wonderful song .... "She Talks Dirty In Spainish!" Mica sang through a bit of computer problems and sore throat not wanting to let us down, and darlin ya sure didn't! He sang a few original tunes including, "Cling" a truly Beautiful Song and some Rascal Flatts a little "Lady Lay Down" and finished his set off with "Country Boy." Getting everyone to dance with him on his hud while he sang some great country tunes with a mix of Elvis and "The Killer," Jerry Lee Lewis's "Whole Lotta Shakin" and "Great Balls of Fire." Bo also sang 2 fun songs for us by Ray Stevens, "Haircut" and one of my favorites, "The Mississippi Squirrel Revival!" Though where I live in RL the snow was falling and so were trees and power lines for many :( In SL the music was upbeat and moving people to dance and donate to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Starting off our day was DJ USmale BigBear at 11am. I'm sorry I neglected to get a picture of him as he mixed the tunes for us. A great mix of country songs filled the airs at the Sweet Escape and those present kept the donations flowing. Having watched many of his family and friends battle against Cancer, USmale goes out of his way to help the Fight Against Cancer. He played his moving recording of "Why He Relays," that was a part of the Relay for Life in SL. I've not heard this particular song before, but I will not forget it either and I Thank USmale for playing it today and encourage everyone to listen to it. Rascal Flatts, "I Won't Let Go" part of the lyrics are ..... 'I will fight your fight, I will hold you tight, and I won't let you go, no I won't let go.' Thank You USmale BigBear !</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">With Halloween so close a lot of those present today were dressed in costume :) including our 12pm performer, Josie Anderton! Josie has assisted Rays of Hope before, performing at MusicFest for the Relay For Life this year. Singing a Wonderful set of upbeat dancing tunes in her Zombie costume Josie sparkled on stage. Even a sore throat and cold didn't stop her from singing and Dedicating For Everyone Touched By Cancer the song, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." She finished off her set with a song to get everyone movin and groovin (a personal favorite too), "Twist And Shout!" Thank You Josie :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Singing some Gordon Lightfoot and a Wonderful version of "Would You Like to Swing On A Star," he had everyone smiling and singing along. I've not heard the following song before and thanks for introducing it to me, "Let's Talk Dirty In Hawaiian," by John Prine...... still giggling Chapman has helped the Rays of Hope at previous events, sharing his music to help at our other Think Pink Weeks and Relay For Life in SL. Pmann was playing with other great musicians like , Doug Coleman, Adam Jake and Jamie Bowers it was Amazing!! Like so many others, he's been touched by cancer, including someone close to him with Breast Cancer. Urging everyone to give what they can and to spread the word because, "We Need To Stop Cancer," and that we can do so many other things such as flying jets at incredible speeds that we need to focus on a cure! I've been taking a bunch of pictures at all the events , I think I'll save most for a final wrap up post to show off just what people did to Get In The Pink for Breast Cancer!<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>We started off Thursday night at 3pm with Lance Windlow! He didn't just sing for us but he gave out some really good facts on Breast Cancer including, "23% of All Cancers , is Breast Cancer!" Encouraging everyone to donate as much as they could and reminded that no linden amount is too small in the fight against cancer. Loved the SL/lindens take on the Chuck Berry classic, "My Ding-A-Ling." Cancer hits everyone and Lance sang "Tears In Heaven" to honor and remember 2 very social people to him.</div><div>Thank You Lance xo</div><div><div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">4pm we had DJ Walker Cobalt spinning the tunes for everyone! He had a great mix working from country to rock with a splash of Elton John too. Taking the opportunity to make sure we were having fun as he encouraged everyone to TP friends in and get them to join the fight. Walker also tossed in some Great Halloween Tunes of "Honky Talk Halloween" and then "Haunted House," by Jumpin Gene Simmons and for Extra Fun ........ <br />
Kick Off was last night ~ Monday, October 24th! Second Life of course had to rear it's ugly head and give us some major LAGGGGG to deal with but it's been like that all over the grid. <br />
<br />
Prior to the event Broody and I were setting up gestures (check out new store BS Gestures) and he made a fantastic event board. Couldn't do this without my Partner In ..... Hope , Love, Music, "Crime" and All other things xoxo. We've been planning this for weeks and it's always most trying when it's day of event! Here's a peek at the board ....... also gives you a heads up on the week!!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Bill Tigerpaw took the stage and did an AWESOME job! He also sang some very special songs that touch the heart , like "Remember When" and "Who You'd Be Today" for a very special person. Thank You Bill </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">NormReynolds Genesis took over the airways next and my goodness that man can Rock Ya Socks Off! Thank You Norm!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">RL came in as it often does and we had to end the night early but not without raising a lot of lindens for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer! Was really wonderful to see everyone come out no matter what SL trys to throw at us and a lovely 'sea' of PINK !!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all around RL and SL there will be tons of events spreading the word about prevention and raising funds for research!<br />
<br />
Across the SL Grid, there will be concerts, parties, informative talks and sales of many kinds including one by my friend Tusiellee who'll be selling Pink Turtles. A few weeks ago I had one of those bunnies that everyone was 'growing' and she, Bella Luna, died cause I didn't know how to take care of her. In a conversation with Tusie I let it slip how embarrassed I was that happened. With a laugh she told me not to worry and brought me to a place that she worked at and helped me bring Bella back to life.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh54g2DzE84_WGqUmSfEl2oo-xVipzpGKfB72ZffONAVeMijirffg8K-Ye8Pc8jGgl9kTcI8eYnXJUcOY94qIc3i13EjT2es3_xYTxfQ1jRP_ckwiB_l2X3nJfUysDGjsOPggklci4W8_k/s1600/Tusie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh54g2DzE84_WGqUmSfEl2oo-xVipzpGKfB72ZffONAVeMijirffg8K-Ye8Pc8jGgl9kTcI8eYnXJUcOY94qIc3i13EjT2es3_xYTxfQ1jRP_ckwiB_l2X3nJfUysDGjsOPggklci4W8_k/s320/Tusie.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
While we were at Vels Boutique, Tusie showed me not just bunnies but dragons, quails and <em>turtles</em> that were available. The turtles were so cute how could I resist ...... I now have (coughs) a few on my sim, named appropriately: Ray, Hope, Relayer, Strider .... you get where my brain always is hahaha.<br />
<br />
A few days later Tusie told me how she decided to breed Pink turtle eggs to sell as a way to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. I wish I was near her in RL to give her the Giant Hugg my heart felt just smiling at how wonderful and what people can do in SL! Sure there will be concerts, and parties, talks, hunts and clothing sales ............ but how many people would have thought to specifically breed a turtle for this? Amazing!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPALIdUdWaZ3fNljju6k4RcKfyObqG3qHXWau2oE-CP53viHDOcHV7G9P5VTh4ElJpEt1PNjuNGJMT5ElMn70Ra-vC3zcxLwv3utN6wWLUWIGHrlA9SZ0wHFbCR1BnDQqzBXJFjKBrYeU/s1600/Some_of_the_Pink_eggs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" px="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPALIdUdWaZ3fNljju6k4RcKfyObqG3qHXWau2oE-CP53viHDOcHV7G9P5VTh4ElJpEt1PNjuNGJMT5ElMn70Ra-vC3zcxLwv3utN6wWLUWIGHrlA9SZ0wHFbCR1BnDQqzBXJFjKBrYeU/s320/Some_of_the_Pink_eggs.jpg" width="318" /></a></div><br />
<br />
These Extra Special Pink Turtles will be available for a donation of 100L, there will be a few places that will have them featured and of course Stampede Canyon Country Club will be one of them! I hope you will seek these turtles out, buy one and watch them grow knowing how they were brought about through Love and Hope for an End To Breast Cancer!<br />
<br />

I waited, I hoped, I looked, I searched and I wondered, WHERE HAVE ALL THE PEOPLE GONE??<br />
<br />
For the past year now, yes it's been a lil over a year that I started to DJ in second life. I'm shy and yes my first words that night I was told try it were, "but there are people here!" But, I love music and wanted to add to the fun and share with others. This was at Stampede Canyon Country where I still DJ and now Sing.<br />
<br />
I've watched and wondered as time has gone on, is my music old? am I missing something? are we not doing it right? I love music so I don't mind playing for myself and the host or owners, however the guilty feeling creeps in that you are being paid to do something for 'no one.'<br />
<br />
Last night, Big Band night and only the 2nd week of this event, I hoped there would be more people there to join in the fun and support the Cafe Casablanca. It wasn't just me though, in another club across SL space, my friend was DJ'in the same time and it was only DJ and Host.<br />
<br />
I'd blame it on the 1st week of school, but we've been blaming it on the summer, so it would just be trading one for another. I'm wondering is this happening everywhere, if not ..... what's the fix to get people back involved again?<br />
<br />
Y'all be sure to drop in a club this weekend and support the venue, they're there to help make SL a Great Place for Everyone!Suzetta Mooniteshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15316818671058872484noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8454208800668805300.post-15690972488216669702010-09-01T12:32:00.000-07:002010-09-01T12:32:58.549-07:00The End For EmeraldI used emerald for a while a few months ago before changing to the RLV *winx.* I must say I didn't see any of the promoted things happening with and it was very laggy. But still I hope this doesn't mean that LL is going to take over the market on viewers because SL viewer 2 stinks!<br />
<br />
Farewell Emerald <br />
<br />
****<br />
The End<br />
<br />
This is the end, beautiful friend<br />
This is the end, my only friend, the end<br />
It hurts to set you free<br />
But you’ll never follow me<br />
The end of laughter and soft lies<br />
The end of night we tried to die<br />
This is the end<br />
<br />
United we stand and divided we fall. Thus ends the final days of the Emerald Project.<br />
<br />
Approximately 10 days ago I and a number of devs came together to reform the Emerald Team in the anxious hope of continuing the most popular TPV in Second Life. The incredible driving passion, flair for innovation, endless energy and camaraderie were all still there. Because of this, I was sure we could make this work.<br />
<br />
Alas this was not to be. Linden Lab has made demands of the team that are impossible to meet. Among the demands not listed publicly elsewhere was to publicly release an RC without any ability to load the emkdu or llkdu files. This was do-able. The final demand was to ‘delete’ 3 key members of our team. While making this demand, Linden Lab was quite aware that this was effectively the guillotine to the project.<br />
<br />
This is the opportunity for a fork project to develop and create a TPV version of snowstorm, which is what Linden Lab really wants. I am aware of a number of small projects underway now, and I wish them the best, the very best in their endeavors.<br />
<br />
For you, the user, what this means is that there will not be any further releases of the Emerald Viewer after today. The existing releases will continue to operate until Linden Lab decides to terminate their access and end Emerald once and for all.<br />
<br />
There will be one final version of the Emerald Viewer released here later today; that is, the viewer we’ve been working on for the past six months. It would be a shame to let the efforts of the developers who put so many unpaid hours into this project go to waste.<br />
<br />
This virtual world is ever changing and must be, otherwise it will stagnate. This incredible environment will continue.<br />

I guess it's kinda like keeping a journal or posting information that others may find interesting or informative.<br />
<br />
I am Suzetta, in Second Life via New Jersey. Owner of Sweet Refuge sim that's open for land rental and home to Drago Mystique Coven (bloodlines family), my closest friends and Rays of Hope ~ Relay For Life Team. <br />
<br />
I'm DJ'ing at Cafe Casablanca on Wednesday nights for Big Band/Swing Music. A great lil club on the beach, good friends, fab live music, dancing and romance.<br />
<br />
Also, DJ at Stampede Canyon Country on Fridays for various event themes. A really wonderful club, country, oldies, twysted, pop music played with events every day of the week. Great for line dancing or intan for the couples and a sweet garden outside to play in as well.<br />
<br />
My Coven .... Drago Mystique is a small group of friends that are Family through Friendship! We play the inworld game Bloodlines, but don't be afraid we don't hunt much and when we do we always ask before we bite. The people in the group are the best and my longest friends in SL, they give great council to me and know how to make me laugh my butt off!<br />
<br />
Rays of Hope is a Brand New Team for the Relay For Life in SL!! RFL is the signature event for the American Cancer Society and I've been proud to Relay in RL for over 13years now! The main reason for me to join SL was to participate in RFL ..... we just finished the 6th year of Relay in July 2010. You will read much more on Team Rays and Relay as my blog continues.<br />
<br />
